About

Liz Tigani, LCSW is a graduate of Georgetown University (BA) and Fordham Graduate School of Social Service who has dedicated herself to helping others enhance their connection to food.

Her focus was born out of her experience counseling at-risk youth in what was then a food desert in the South Bronx. Moved by both the profound effect that diet had on her clients as well as personal health issues she was dealing with at the time, Liz completed training at both the Institute for Integrative Nutrition (IIN) and Psychology of Eating (IPE). These experiences enabled her to incorporate health coaching into her practice.

From there she expanded her cooking knowledge at the Natural Gourmet Institute, equipping her with the skills to serve as a private chef, cooking instructor and kitchen organizer to private clients in the tri-state area. During this period, Liz was diagnosed with a gluten allergy which further inspired her to take courses toward her Master’s in Nutrition at the University of Bridgeport.

Meanwhile, she is thrilled with the variety of ways she is able to work with clients in NYC, Westchester and Connecticut; from helping to identify food sensitivities and teaching new cooking skills to shopping together at farmer’s markets and re-organizing the kitchen cabinets. You can also find Liz at Blue Hill Stone Barns during the week where she volunteers for the local schools’ K-12 educational farm program.
